Latest Briefing on BTS Seoul Comeback Showcase: Ticket-Only Entry and One-Hour Performance as City Braces for 260,000 Attendees

Public officials reveal a comprehensive safety roadmap in preparation for the massive crowd expected at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21.

Organizers have officially confirmed that the upcoming "BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang" in downtown Seoul will be a ticket-only event with a total runtime of approximately sixty minutes.

In anticipation of a massive turnout that could reach 260,000 people, Seoul's law enforcement agencies are establishing a rigorous set of crowd-management protocols.

According to a Friday update on the fan community platform Weverse, access to the primary viewing sectors for the 8 p.m. show on March 21 will be strictly reserved for those who secured tickets through the Weverse global lottery system.

To ensure public safety, areas surrounding the official event site may be subject to intermittent pedestrian movement restrictions governed by on-site security personnel.

The venue will feature a combination of standing areas and seated sections; while some seats may have obstructed views due to technical infrastructure, Big Hit Music will provide large LED displays to ensure all fans have a clear view of the stage.

With the event about a month away, a preliminary safety audit by the police has confirmed that the Gwanghwamun Square vicinity must be prepared to handle upwards of a quarter-million attendees.

For enhanced security, the police intend to treat the open urban area as a "virtual stadium," managing the perimeter as if it were a high-capacity sports arena and directing all entry and exit through specific gates.

This designated "stadium" zone will span a 1.2-kilometer stretch from Gwanghwamun Woldae to City Hall Station, utilizing 29 dedicated passageways to regulate the flow of people and prevent overcrowding.

The event site will be further categorized into four distinct color-coded zones—Core, Hot, Warm, and Cold—to monitor human density and facilitate smoother movement across the square.

Officers will be heavily deployed in the high-density "Core" and "Hot" zones to maintain safety, while the "Warm" and "Cold" sectors will serve as buffer areas to keep traffic moving and guide arrivals.

The Seoul Metro has been asked to consider bypassing Gwanghwamun, Gyeongbokgung, and City Hall stations if congestion peaks, while digital road signs will alert the public to any upcoming traffic closures.

Authorities have also pledged to heighten surveillance against theft and other offenses, while simultaneously launching a crackdown on ticket scalping and the use of automated booking programs.

Fans can apply for free in-person tickets via NOL Ticket starting at 8 p.m. on February 23, while those unable to attend the live show in Seoul can stream the entire performance exclusively on Netflix.

Just one day prior to the concert, BTS will unveil their fifth studio album, Arirang, on March 20 at 1 p.m., featuring 14 tracks that draw inspiration from Korea's traditional folk music to tell their newest story.
