I’m in love. I was sceptical at first but this balm has had so many great reviews and is recommended by some of the skin care gurus I follow so I decided to give it a shot. I’m so glad I did. This does take some getting used to when I’ve used foaming and gel cleansers for 25 odd years. It is super convenient to use with the little spoon included inside the lid of the jar (kept separated from the actual contents – clever). I love that it goes onto dry skin and it is amazing at taking make up and sunscreen off completely. My skin feels amazing afterwards. I have combination skin but it’s quite sensitive and has dry patches and this cleansing balm works wonders. I use this mainly in the evening to take off the days make up, sunscreen and environmental pollutants. It uses essential oils so be aware if your skin is not keen on those – these oils give it a slight scent but not overpowering. I prefer subtle to no fragrance in my skincare.

So, I really love Clinique’s take the day off balm makeup remover but I’ve always suspected the markup was a bit extreme. I bought the Heimish All Clean Balm for like $15 after hearing Raw Beauty Kristi mention it and claim it doesn’t leave a film on your skin. I was almost out of Clinique so figured I’d try it and see…and Kristi was right! No film, gets my makeup off just as well, actually comes in a debatably better little tub since it has an internal lid with a little spoon. If they keep the price point in the $15 range I will definitely keep buying this over Clinique.UPDATE: I am almost at the bottom of this huge jar now and I have reconsidered my previous 5 star rating, I think a 4 star is more appropriate since this balm leaves a bit of residue on the skin which necessitates doing a double cleanse.

When I bought this balm, I was very skeptical. It’s a large amount for a relatively inexpensive amount of money. I did not think anything could rival my Farmacy Green Clean balm, but I was wrong. This balm comes in a large jar with a hinged lid and spatula (very convenient). I decided to test it on a full face of makeup including two coats of waterproof mascara. I scraped about a teaspoon out of the jar with the spatula, warmed it up in my hands, and massaged it onto my face. It smells slightly medicinal but not in a bad way. The balm easily dissolved all of my makeup and my waterproof mascara. After emulsifying with water and rinsing off there was not a trace of any makeup or any kind of film on my skin. My face felt very smooth and hydrated. I followed it up with my second cleanse using Krave’s Matcha Hydrating Hemp cleanser. My skin felt very nice and hydrated. For me, this worked as well or maybe even a little bit better than the Farmacy Green Clean balm. For the amount, price, and effectiveness, I will continue to purchase, especially when my budget is tight!

I have used an oil based cleaning product of some sort or another for years. Most of my makeup is waterproof or long wear and soap alone doesn’t break it up enough especially waterproof mascara. I recently started following a Korean skincare routine) because it’s the easiest way to rationalize my skincare junkie habit) and this is BY FAR the best oil/balm based cleanser I have used. It turns into a liquid state very quickly with the warmth of your hands and leaves no noticeable oily film once rinsed away like some others I’ve tried. I have have also noticed some other oil cleansers make my eyes sting when trying to get my mascara off, this does not. The packaging is also very pretty and functional, it has a pop top so you don’t have to untwist it to use it and it smell wonderful, not overpowering, like a light citrus herbal smell. I think I probably could go without using a foaming cleanser with this if I followed with a toner but like my routine. If you are looking for something that dissolves makeup and doesn’t break you out because of leftover oil, this is your jam.
